Here are some comparison shots for your LED/T5 combo lights, I installed these lights in March, my tank went from PC to your lights, which I love BTW. the tank is a 75 gal SW tank with a 10 sump fuge combo. I did changed out the T5's from the original 10k to 15k on 10/13/09. 2 15K actinic white and 2 15k ATI aquablues. Thanks for the opportunity to test out your light, I am enjoying the comparison shots, they are truely amazing.

I've bought several lighting units from them and I've been very pleased...they custom made a T-5 setup that I'm really enjoying and the MH setup above my 90, again custom sized. [Customer service] is great...he even got in touch after I got the lights to make sure they were what I wanted.

I have a retro fixture from them, very nice for a nice low price. Their bulbs are pretty nice, but the actinic is really more of a blue plus. The company also has a 8 bulb retro with individual reflectors. If you look up catalina aquarium and call them they will give you recommendations and an honest representation (possibly a lower price too).

As far as service, I have bought lights from them. Good service and nice lights for the money. They use workhorse ballasts, and the same style endcaps as the tek light fixture. Their shipping is very quick and packaging is pretty nice to. They will replace bulbs that are recieved broken quickly and without hassle.

I just installed your new 250W 15K hqi bulbs and really like them. They were installed next to the Phoenix 14 K bulbs and I liked the Catalina bulbs much better. My Phoenixs were too blue and not as bright as I had hoped for, but the Catalinas were a good mix of blue and brightness. I did not realize how yellow 10Ks are until they were next to the 15 ks. The colors in the corals really stand out especially the blues.

I use a catilina 1800 for a return pump on a 35 gal tank and have also ran one on one of there skimmers they have worked well for me in salt water and the guys from catilina have always given me great coustomer service... I have a few catilina pumps running in my system one of them has been running a year 24/7 and has never missed a beat.

I got turned on to an awesome true 420nm Actinic T5 bulb this weekend, and it has made all the difference in the world to my tank... These are closer to a URI SuperActinic VHO than anything else I've seen yet, which is especially amazing for those of us using T5's. My system is comprised of 2 rows of 36in 39w (back to front): Blue Plus, Actinic, 50/50 White, Blue Plus

The difference shown in the pics above, was the result of simply swapping out 1 of the 50/50's for a true 420nm CA Actinic... I'm inclined to keep the rest of the bulbs, as I really like the coloration on the right side of the images. Keep in mind that they do look a whole lot better in person, because the digital image doesn't do it justice.

I recently began testing a 400W 20K MH bulb being sold by Catalina Aquarium. It's only been a week, but I must say that I'm impressed by the color and apparent brightness. Reminds me of the Ushio 10K 400W bulb but it's a little bluer and brighter.

Well i took the plundge and checked out the Catalina line of products....they opereate here in Sacramento,Ca so they were pretty close to me....

well i bougt one of their sumps for my 125 gallon fish tank and it seems to be pretty good...their venturi skimmer that seems to look like one of those Euro-reef skimmers are pretty good too....It has a chamber full of little tiny bubbles giving it that milky look that is found on the euro reefs and it also came with a big 700-800gph pump....

I must say it was quite an experience....they showed me there assembly line of products and all seemed to be a small wholesale buisness doing good buisness....The lighting they make are all nice....they all or most of them run on electronic ballast and are warraty by them for 5 yrs...The only thing that seemed to be wrong with the lighitng was that they dont really use the nice individual parobolic reflectors like sunlight supply tek uses [Editor: now, we do]....but overall the quality is probably the same you would fine in any coralife,hamilton,etc...best of all they can make anything to any size wattage or shape....And the prices are quite reasonable or affordable compared to the name brands...

when i bought my sump/refugium i found out that i needed another pump and they gladly just gave me one just free of charge ....very helpful and nice people...if you have questions about there products ask me ....since i am in the process of using some of them.
