Aquarium Heaters |

Catalina Aquarium submersible heaters come in 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 watt. Titanium heaters come in 50 (5½"), 100 (5½"), 150 (7½"), 200 (7½"), 300 (12"), and 500 (14") watt.
As a general rule, select a heater that is 2 to 5 watts per gallon of aquarium water. If you have a 55 gallon aquarium a 150 watt heater would be the smallest recommended heater. Things to consider are the rooms ambient temperature in the winter time. If you keep the room on the cool side (below 70°) in the winter you should select a heater that is 5 times the watts per aquarium gallon. Discus hobbyists that need to keep their fish very warm select high wattage heaters. |
